What’s New?

Here’s a quick round-up of some of the recent events involving members of our congregation:

Higher Things, Bozeman, MT

From July 19-July 22, 2022, Our Redeemer sent a group of young adults to Bozeman, Montana, for the Higher Things conference, focusing on developing a deeper understanding of our faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. This year’s theme was “For You”, based on 1 Corinthians 15:1-2, “BROTHERS, I AM MAKING KNOWN TO YOU THE GOSPEL THAT I PREACHED TO YOU, THAT YOU RECEIVED, IN WHICH YOU STAND, AND THROUGH WHICH YOU ARE SAVED.”

We had worship, fellowship, and fun as we heard the Word of God in service, enjoyed a meal hosted by the Youth Group, and the younger children had an egg hunt. We gladly state and sing, “Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!”

Palm Sunday!

During the 8:00 AM service, we had a processional of all ages with palm branches, horns, and singing. At the 10:30 service, the children had a processional, and sang a song during the service. As is written in Isaiah 9, verse 6:
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Wassail!

On December 22, 2021, we had our annual Christmas Wassail event, featuring music, a Christmas Program from our Sunday School, and a hymn sing-along intermixed with a meal of traditional wassail (cider), hors d’oeuvres (appetizers) and sweets (desserts). The evening was full of fun and entertainment!

Preparing for the Advent season

On November 28, 2021, we began the Advent season, and our church sanctuary has been decorated for the season!

What is Advent? (from https://www.lhm.org/advent/)
The church divides the year into different seasons that emphasize the life of Christ and the life of the church. Beginning on Sunday, November 28, 2021, we will enter the season of the church year called Advent. Advent is the season of preparation and anticipation leading up to Christmas, and continuing to Epiphany January 6, 2022.

Advent, then, is a time for us to repent and believe. Knowing that Jesus was born to forgive our sins, we repent (admit our failures to God) and believe that we are forgiven because of the death and resurrection of Jesus on our behalf. Also, knowing that Jesus is coming back, we repent and believe that when He returns, He will give us eternal life.

Confirmation on Reformation Day

On October 31, 2021, we celebrated Reformation Day with Colton Consoer and Kyana Ross completing the Rite of Confirmation. Our entire congregation is proud of both of them, and looks forward to their ongoing growth and development in their faith!

Also, our Children’s Choir sang. Enjoy some special footage below!
